You have the time to do what matters. You’re just making excuses.

Good, you’re here, and since I value your time, and I’m pretty sure you do too (a probable reason you’re reading this), I’ll do my best that this will be as short as possible and enough to convey my message.

If you’re like almost everybody (okay, like me), you probably have some things that you’ve been wanting to do since time immemorial.

It could be to go to the gym, or to read books, to write a book or start a blog, to start a project, or a business, etc.

The thing is we “don’t have the time.”

But, do we really?

For me, that’s just an excuse.

Why?

If we have time to browse and mindlessly scrolling Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other infinity pools. Then we have ‘the time’.

If we have time to constantly talk to our friends over SnapChat, Messenger or whatever, then we have time.

If we have time to binge watch Friends or other tv series on Netflix, HBO or Hulu, surely we have the time.

What we really don’t have most of the time are clear goals, plans and a schedule.

Most of us don’t usually plan and create schedules on a daily basis.

And because we don’t have a plan, our brains tend to go autopilot, we go with the flow, succumbing to our impulses to unconsciously do what’s entertaining us, feeding our brain with dopamines when we get bored, constantly checking our phones, getting distracted like cats chasing red laser dots.

At this point, I think you already know where I’m going.

I’m not saying that it’s bad to browse social media, or to talk to friends, or to watch an episode or two on a tiring day, but if we will not limit ourselves and be constantly mindful with our extracurricular activities, then finding the time to do what really matters to us will always be as elusive as we say it is.
